SMP Version History

Requirements

• Windows 2000 SP2, Windows XP SP2, or Windows Vista.
• Microsoft Office 2000 SP3 or later. If you are running Office XP, 2003, or 2007 you will need to load the Access 2000 Runtime (see below).

Installation instructions

1. Check your operating system.
   If you are running a supported operating system, make sure that your have the service pack listed above or a later one.  If you do not have at least the service pack listed for your OS, SMP may not function correctly.
2. Check your version of MS Access
   1. If you do not have Access, install the the Access 2000 Runtime with SP3. If you have an earlier vesion of the Access 2000 runtime, you will need to update it with this version.
   2. If you have Access 2000, open Access and select Help/About from the menu.  The About dialog will tell you what service pack you have.  If you do not have Service Pack 3 or later, you will need to update to the latest Office 2000 Service Pack. (You may need your original Office discs to apply the service pack.)
   3. If you have a different version of Access (such as XP, 2003, or 2007), you will need to install the Access 2000 Runtime with SP3. If you have an earlier vesion of the Access 2000 runtime, you will need to update it with this version.  If you have a later version of Access on your machine, you will want to open that version of Access and select "Help/Detect and Repair" after installing the Access 2000 runtime.  (You may need your original office discs to perform the repair.)  This will make sure that when you double click on an Access database, it will launch the later version of Access, not the Access runtime.
3. Install SMP.  
   SMP 6.31 Full Install - Complete install for Pro and Lite.
   SMP 6.31 Upgrade - For upgrading from SMP Pro or Lite 5.40 or later.
