Managing returned E-mails addresses

People are constantly on the move and because of this e-mail addresses change often. Successful e-marketing is contingent on e-mail addresses being current and correct.

The Home page of SMP will show you how many returned e-mails you have flagged in the database. This information was obtained either when someone, either yourself or someone else, scanned their inbox for returned e-mails after sending a campaign.

Scanning your inbox -

Whenever you send an e-mail campaign you will probably have several e-mail addresses in your database that are either no longer valid or were input incorrectly in SMP. To check your inbox for returned e-mail addresses click

  • "Outlook" from the menu bar      
  • "Check for returned E-mails"   
  • Select the "inbox" folder that contains the returned e-mails
  • Click "Check Mail box"
  • SMP will scan the inbox for all returned email addresses
  •  All returned e-mails will be flagged with (rtn) before the e-mail address in SMP.  

Managing and Correcting Returned Email addresses

The Home Page will show if you have any returned email addresses in your account base by the number to the right of the "Returned Email" hyperlink.

Clicking the "Returned Email" hyperlink will open the "Returned Email" window which will show you all the contacts, with their respective email address that was returned.

Clicking the Customer hyperlink will open the customer page, allowing you quick and easy correction of the returned email
