Understanding Market Analysis Filter Criteria

Selecting filter criteria is how you specify which customers are included in a market analysis list. Once you select filter criteria and click Run, the List frame updates and displays a list of customers (with sales and profit data) that meet the selected criteria. The filtering of market analysis lists is based on the AND concept—finding all the customers that meet the first criteria AND meet the second criteria AND meet the third criteria. For example, a regional manager might need to know which of the company’s largest customers are assigned to a particular account manager. To display a list of these customers, the regional manager should select the account manager AND sales greater than $1,000 as filter criteria. You can select only one filter criteria if that creates the list you need, or you can make selections for almost all the filter criteria. Generally, as you select more filter criteria, your list of customers gets smaller.
